  1. Same here Johnny is just super chill and hilarious. Too often, I feel like people take wrestling WAY too seriously and he's always there to bring things back down to the silliness of it all. Also, I can confirm that as a male adult my friends are indeed stupid motherfucking cocksuckers but they're cool!
  2. These shows make my Mondays awesome. You guys continue to make me laugh, look up random shit, and clamor for more.
  3. Taz in WWF. For a guy that was such an interesting character and top guy in ECW, he just never worked in WWF.
  4. Of course Vince has warped into George Steinbrenner circa 1996-end of his life. Someone who still shows the qualities and actions that made his despicable, but beloved and untouchable by the fanbase due to product on the field (Attitude Era, mainstream cred, etc). And Triple H is untouchable because he is the NXT figurehead. Trips would have to turn heel on NXT to get back any genuine crowd heel heat. My friend and I have been joking that Vince is hitting the "self-destruct" button on any chance of WWE becoming huge again because he's old and realizes sooner than later he'll be gone and doesn't want the company to thrive after him. I think while that's obviously an exaggeration, if you look at creative it may be true. Lately they've been fantastic but as most of us that have been around a decent amount of time know, that can change in a second.
  5. I couldn't disagree more actually. For once this felt like it meant something and I was very impressed with the staging of the match. It didn't feel like a four way clusterfuck as much as it felt like a battle that each man was fighting towards becoming the champion. I loved the hot start with Owens being taken out of the equation for a while and Miz was just fantastic with his character work. I felt like the match was really solid and a low end MOTY for me. I get your criticisms though, a lot of the finish segment was congested and felt really overdone but so much more of the match worked for me.
  6. Couldn't have said it better and I actually had this thing at 4 myself but I totally get giving it a smidgen more. Just great work on the mat and high drama where it needed to be.
  7. It is incredible how quick and enjoyable these shows are. Despite having heavy amounts of things to cover, you guys always deliver with the good shit.
  8. I managed to finish the whole archived shows during the GWE madness so when this popped up, I was beyond pleased. Johnny Sorrow for life!
  9. Did not expect such love for Emma but I totally agree. How she's been lately makes you realize what the NXT brass saw when she had the silly gimmick. I also feel like Becky is getting so awesome.
  10. When's the last time Scott Hall had a genuinely good match? And I mean something which featured a really strong performance from him, not just "well, that three-way with Jarrett and Sid wasn't too bad". Also, they were screwed from the start by the booking. I don't think the WWF crowd really gave a shit about the Outsiders in 2002, they were mostly just excited for Hogan's return while Nash and Hall rode on his coattails. Putting Austin into this feud was seen as a step down for Stone Cold, who should never be wrestling a sub-ten-minutes match deep in the undercard of Wrestlemania against a worker whose finish Austin can't even physically take. It doesn't help that Hall was trying to wrestle a Rock-type sprint, and simply didn't have the ability to do that and pull it off. Scott Hall is like Tony Romo. Scott Hall is a guy who is simultaneously better and worse than what you think he is. When he is good, you don't understand how anyone could think he's not one of the best in the world, but when he's bad he's really fucking bad. I honestly think that Scott Hall is up there with Barry Windham on pure talent. He's just not someone who ever really maximized that talent. I think you said it perfectly, supreme. Hall was always a guy that was inconsistent as fuck but when he was on, I'm not sure there are too many people that are better than he was. I'd say that by 2002 everyone was beyond sick of the whole nWo motif and yes it was clear that the whole revamp was a vehicle to bring Hogan back to the WWF fold. Hall was truly done by 99 in my view though, I think my source of disappointment was the build because as Jingus put it, no one gave a shit.
  11. The whole booking of the match didn't help either. There was no point in even having the match because neither guy is better off for having been in it. I do agree though that is was a mess and the finish was especially lackluster.
  12. I'm surprised that Steve Austin vs Scott Hall isn't on here. I understand both guys were definitely passed their primes, I felt like that match could have still been much better. Didn't help that the build was god fucking awful.
  13. I just don't get this "don't vote with your biases" argument. Literally anything that you do in life has a bias attached to it, and that's just human nature. Wrestling is beautiful because it is actually INCREDIBLY diverse. That's not saying that there aren't obvious metrics to think of when ranking such but it does say that at the end of the day, I would say the vast majority of the ballots were filled to the brim with favoritism. That is ok, also. I know that mine was.
