  1. Thank you. I appreciate your advice. I did not know they pre-dated me but I'm happy to peacefully co-exist.
  2. In the WON Daily Update for Monday, OCT 23, 2017, it mentioned a wrestling promotion called BRAWL (Bloody Rage American Wrestling League). Does anybody out there have any contact information for this group? I googled them but did not see an address for getting in touch with them. I ask because in my wrestling fiction OUT OF TEXAS book series, available at Amazon and at Smashwords, I also write about a wrestling promotion called BRAWL (Brazos River Area Wrestling League). It first appeared in my now out-of-print book REMEMBER THE ALOE, MOE, originally published by iUniverse, Inc, 2007, ISBN 9780595441242. I later reworked that book into OUT OF TEXAS 4 : JOSIE AND THE ALLEY CAT, published Aug. 21, 2014, ISBN 9781311022073. I don't know who has priority on the name and would like to make sure there is no conflict, with the goal of making sure we are both free to use the name without any legal complications. If anyone has any information on how I might contact the group, or can suggest places to look or other people to contact, I would be greatly indebted to you. Again, I'm not out to stir up trouble and I'm sure it should be amicably possible for both of us to use the name for our different purposes. Thanks.

  4. I grew up seeing lots of masked wrestlers on Houston Wrestling and pretty much enjoyed them all. As for Mr 2, I didn't see him until Paul Boesch aligned with Bill Watts. I later wrote some wrestling-based fiction adventures and gave my protagonist the kneelift for a signature move. I have a question as to Mr 2's style. As I recall he was older then and his move set was mostly confined to a front facelock, some back body drops, and then the kneelift. It didn't bother me since he still looked good but was he always that limited? Or did he in his earlier days have more variety? Maybe throw a dropkick now and then? The Mr Wrestling gimmick ought to be reserved for guys with real grappling skills. I know there have been several Wrestling 3's and even a Wrestling 4 on the indies and I once read that Terry Taylor was offered one of the Wrestling 3 roles but turned it down. Too bad. It might have done more for his career than the Red Rooster. Anyhow, "Mr Wrestling" remains a great concept and it's a shame a really good promoter doesn't revive it with the respect it deserves.
  5. I absolutely loved this man. He was the funniest person ever, in or out of wrestling. I'm not trying to plug myself, but back in 2004 I wrote a story with a character based on the Bobby Heenan character, in my case called "Bobby 'the Brain' Toomer." It was in a book called THE GUANT-FACED GRAPPLER and you can download it FREE from here https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/366099 if you are interested. The story is called "Brainstorming." Again, I'm not plugging myself and I won't earn a nickle from this, but maybe if you were a Heenan fan you might get a kick out of it. RIP, Mr Heenan, you were a brain, a weasel, and a genius.
  6. Hey there, PWO members. If you enjoy reading about pro wrestling but would like a break from the usual biographies and histories, may I humbly suggest you try out my OUT OF TEXAS fiction series. My OUT OF TEXAS e-books have been around since 2004 chronicling the adventures of a Siamese cat that morphs into a human and finds employment as a professional wrestler. It is currently in its 6th installment with more on the way. The stories are fun, action packed tales with bits of wacky sci-fi and fantasy thrown in. If you enjoy adventure shows like the '60s British AVENGERS or cartoons such as JOHNNY BRAVO then you might find OUT OF TEXAS to your liking. [Please excuse the "dated references" but that's the stuff I grew up with.] You can download my e-books at https://www.smashwords.com/books/byseries/14006. Not only are they available for free but, best of all, you don't have to pay anything for them either. Well, unless you want to. Gratuities are always appreciated. Seriously though, please check it out. I feel sure you will find them interesting. Thanks.
