  1. Prelim wrestler Barry Hardy was active by now. I mention this as he and Duane "Gillberg" Gill were a pretty fun jobber tag team, both under their own names and as the masked Executioners.
  2. Following Vegas Vengeance, PCW drops Brian Christopher Lawler and Silver King and picks up Reno Riggins and Dennis Condrey.
  3. Pacific Coast Wrestling Vegas Vengeance from the Showboat Arena, Las Vegas, Night Two Dragon Azul vs. The Jackal The second night started out with a hot light heavyweight battle. While Dragon Azul has impressed many and showed a composure and confidence that belied his youth, the Jackal as taken a more sinister path of ambush and foul play. The Jackal was savage in his attack on Dragon, and the Japanese star had to work hard to fight back against the Wild Thing member. When the ref was knocked down, the Jackal immediately capitalized by throwing a handful of crimson dust right into the face of Dragon Azul. Dragon seemed to be both blinded and struggling to breathe, and the Jackal followed up with an inverted DDT before going for the pin. The ref crawled over and made the count, giving the win to the Jackal. Just goes to show that you can't take your eye off the Jackal for a second. Dustin Rhodes vs. Chris Adams While Chris Adams has mainly been focused on Bret Hart and Steve Austin since his return to the West Coast, he has proved dangerous no matter what the opposition. The former California champ Dustin Rhodes was certainly no pushover, the English Gentleman would show himself the ultimate victor when he caught him coming off the ropes with a devastating Superkick. Adams is definitely turning out to be the Diamond Exchange's proverbial Ace In The Hole. Dan Severn, Steve Blackman & Maxx Payne vs. The Oregon Wrecking Crew (Billy Jack Haynes , Gary Albright & David Young) Following his loss of the Pacific Submission Title to Billy Jack Haynes, Dan Severn has found himself deep in the doldrums which have proved difficult to shake. This seemed to continue into plague him in this six man match, as he seemed listless and disinterested throughout the match. His teammates were both frustrated and concerned with their leader, but despite doing what they could to get Severn engaged, the Beast still ended up being pinned by Young after a Spinebuster Slam. Severn seemed incredibly dejected as he headed back to the locker room, as Blackman and Payne exchanged worried glances. Shinya Hashimoto vs. Bam Bam Bigelow Bigelow comes into this match standing on shaky ground with the Diamond Exchange. Diamond Dallas Page has pretty much given the Beast From The East final notice and told him that he needed to start delivering results, otherwise, he could be replaced. Bam Bam came close to winning the Pacific Heavyweight Title in San Francisco, but close wasn't good enough for DDP. Bam Bam brought an extra intensity to his match with Hashimoto, intensity which the tough as nails Japanese star matches. DDP grew more and more furious with each near fall, demanding that Bigelow finish off Hashimoto. Bigelow attempted to whip Hashimoto into the ropes, but Hashimoto reversed it. DDP had failed to see that it had been reversed (or had he?) and reached in and mistakenly (?) tripped Bigelow. This left Bigelow vulnerable to the Leaping Spike DDT, and this was enough to give Hashimoto the win. After the match, DDP lambasted Bigelow for the loss, all while Hashimoto looked on in concern, and even slapped his face. Bad move, as an enraged Bam Bam grabbed DDP by jacket and started shaking him. The Destruction Crew rushed in to the ring to the aid of their manager, beating down Bam Bam. This was the last straw for Hashimoto, who waded in and started levelling the crew with brutal kicks to the head and DDTs. Bam Bam had recovered enough to go up top and hit the Nuclear Splash on both men, all while a horrified DDP watched. Page was finally able to drag his men out of the ring, and they staggered back to the locker room while Hashimoto raised Bam Bam's arm as a show of respect. Not a good omen for the Destruction Crew's upcoming Pacific Tag Team Title defense. Louie Spicolli vs. Mike Awesome Mike Awesome may be Buddy Rose's chief enforcer for the Playboy Club, but he has shown to be just as capable of getting it done in his own matches. He was able to overpower poor Spicolli and toss him around the ring, finishing him off with the Power Bomb. With people like Mike Awesome watching his back, Playboy Buddy Rose may well be untouchable. Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament Semi-Final Match : The Can-Am Express vs. The Fighting Irish (Fit Finlay & Erin O'Grady) The night moved on to the second round of the Tag Team Tournament. The Fighting Irish had pulled off a major upset over Phoenix Rising in the first round, but their Cinderella Story reached midnight with the Can-Am Express. Furnas and Lafon were just too well tuned for the duo from the Emerald Isle, with Lafon hitting O'Grady with a reverse cross body to move on in the tournament. Still, the Leprechaun has a lot to be proud of for his efforts, and Finlay is clearly proud of him. Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament Semi-Final Match : The Sin City Superstars (Scotty The Body & Mark Starr) vs. The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle) The Sin City Superstars had engaged in some dirty pool to get to the second round of the tournament, but the Force Of July were not about to tolerate any of their nonsense. Despite Scotty and Starr's efforts at skullduggery, the Eagle hit the Screaming Eagle (top rope missile dropkick) on Starr and put them out of the tournament. The finals were now in place : The Force Of July squaring off against the Can-Am Express. No DQ Street Fight : Steve Austin vs. Cactus Jack Stunning Steve Austin came to the West Coast as a rookie brimming with confidence. Despite some early losses, Austin flourished under the tutelage of Bret Hart and if anything, if confidence has grown after scoring the pinfall in their match at Aloha Spectacular. Cactus Jack, for his part, has been increasingly estranged from the Wild Things, the group he founded, and is dead set on showing that he is a force to be reckoned with. After a few inconclusive bouts, this match was signed, with no rules and a definitive winner guaranteed. Both men came out, guns a-blazing, and immediately started slugging it out with each other. Cactus Jack has a well earned reputation as a reckless brawler. However, Austin was clearly tapping some sort of deep seated inner rage and drive to be done with Cactus once and for all. Both men were a bloody mess deep into the match. There was a big shock among the fans when Austin hit the Stun Gun, but Cactus kicked out. This enraged Austin, who went outside the ring and a grabbed a chair from ringside, bringing it back into the ring. He then dragged Cactus to his feet and then clobbered him across the back with the metal chair. That was not enough for Austin, who proceeded to jab the back of the chair hard into the ribs of Cactus. Finally, Austin hauled Cactus up into a piledriver, driving him into the mat before at last pinning him. The crowd was horrified at the behavior of Austin, who looked like he was going to do more damage post-match when Bret Hart ran out to the ring and grabbed the chair from him. He was able to calm Austin down, but was clearly looking at him with concern as he led the manically grinning Austin back to the locker room. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Destruction Crew © vs. Stormfront (Al Snow & Alex Porteau) Since winning the Pacific Tag Team Titles at San Diego Battleground, the Destruction Crew have been dominant champions. DDP's men have been ruthless in seeing off their challengers, and have seemed unstoppable. However, after the battering that they had taken at the hands of Shinya Hashimoto and Bam Bam Bigelow earlier in the evening, Enos and Bloom were coming in at distinctly compromised capacity. Stormfront had been persistent challengers for the titles and went all out to take down the champs. Diamond Dallas Page did was he could to tip the balance in his men's favour. But Snow and Porteau, hungry not just to win the titles but to lift the fortunes of the Citadel, would not be denied. They hit the Storm Warning (modified double Flapjack that drives the opponent down onto his head) on Enos and get the pinfall. The fans exploded in cheers as Stormfront raised the belts over their heads, and Snow and Porteau were clearly thrilled to have pulled off a major victory. Loser Leaves Town Match : Brian Lee vs. The Undertaker The Undertaker has been on a rampage through Pacific Coast Wrestling, but last week, it seems like he went to far. With his brutalizing of a rookie on Pacific Wrestling Showcase, he drew the ire of his cousin Brian Lee, and the stage was set for this match. After tonight, one of the two of them will have wrestled their last match for PCW. The two had a ferocious match, and the crowd were on the edge of their seats to see who would come out on top. While it is the Undertaker who has the reputation for being relentless, it was the Bulldozer who just kept coming after him, no matter what the Dead Man threw at him. It seemed like the Undertaker would go for the nuclear option when he set Lee up for the dreaded Heart Punch. But out of nowhere, Lee flattened him with a clothesline, then immediately dragged him up to his feet and hit the Prime Time Slam. It was close but he was able to hold the Undertaker to the mat for a three count, and just like that, the man from Death Valley would have to pack his bags. California Title Match : Steven Regal © vs. Chris Candido Following the dissolution of both British Steel and the Knights Templar, Steven Regal has formed a considerable reputation on his own. While not averse to ruthless tactics, lately Regal has focused more on honing and showcasing his technical skills, with some matches that have caught the attention of the discerning fans. After Candido was able to pin Regal in a six man tag match 2 weeks ago, he was immediately picked as the challenger for the California title for this high profile match. Regal came out, very much intending not just to defeat Candido but to prove himself the superior scientific wrestler. Candido rose to the challenge, and the two put on a thrill packed match that kept the fans breathless. The two seemed evenly matched when Regal took Candido down hard with a lightning quick cravat , then swiftly applied the Regal Stretch. The moment Candido tapped out, Regal release the hold and helped Candido to his feet, shaking his hand in recognition of a classic match. Regal certainly shows more gentlemanly behaviour than the alleged "Gentleman" Chris Adams. Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament Final Match : The Can-Am Express vs. The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle) The annual Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament comes to a close with two of the most highly regarded teams on the Pacific Coast in a showdown for the $1 Million prize. Both teams have been on a serious roll going into the tournament, and the fans were keen to see who would come out on top. The teams rewarded the fans with a tightly contested and high impact match, with both teams going into high gear throughout. It looked like it would go to the Force Of July with the Patriot setting Furnas up for the Uncle Slam. But Furnas was able to block it, then turn it around into a waistlock. Lafon quickly came in with a thrust kick that sent Patriot over into a German Suplex from Furnas, then blocked the Eagle long enough to allow the three count. The Can-Am Express are this year's tournament winners, and the Force Of July raised their hands in victory and handed them the trophy in a gracious display of recognition for the classic match they just had. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Ricky Steamboat © vs. Genichiro Tenryu After an incredible two nights of wrestling, the show would close off with the most hotly anticipated match of the lineup. Genichiro Tenryu is both unpinned and undefeated in singles action since his PCW debut, and is perhaps the most feared challenger to Ricky Steamboat in his new reign as Pacific Coast Champion. After opening formalities, the two got down to business. Tenryu was a formidable opponent, hitting some jarring suplexes and power moves early in the match. But Steamboat was patient, slowly chipping away at Tenryu and wearing him down. It took some time, but Steamboat was able to hit some big moves of his own, getting some near falls on the Japanese legend. He went up top for his famous finisher, the Diving Crossbody, but Tenryu rolled through with himself on top for the cover. One … two … kickout by Steamboat. Tenryu got up and brought Steamboat to his feet, getting him set for the Power Bomb. But the Dragon dug in for all he was worth and blocked every attempt at the move. Tenryu then locked his arms around Steamboat and hit a Belly To Belly Suplex that made the ring shake. One … two … kickout by Steamboat. The bell then rang, leading Tenryu to think he had won the title, but it was only signaling a 30 minute time limit draw. Both men bowed to each other after the match, but the steely glares they were giving each other showed that this was not over by a long chalk. A rematch would only be a matter of time.
  4. Pacific Coast Wrestling Vegas Vengeance from the Showboat Arena, Las Vegas, Night One Jerry Lynn vs. Dean Malenko The fans were already excited for the kickoff of PCW's annual trip to America's Playground, and got even more so with the start of the first match. Lynn and Malenko have exchanged wins in a thrilling feud, and were both keen to establish dominance at Vegas Vengeance. Malenko was razor sharp in this match with his takedowns and submission holds, looking to force Lynn to tap out. For his part, Lynn proved incredibly resilient, fighting out of attempts to get him in the Texas Cloverleaf and getting in plenty of shots of his own. Malenko eventually tried to take Lynn down once more with a spinning back heel kick, but Lynn was just able to dodge out of the way. Lynn hit a running legdrop, then went up top and hit a flying senton to finally put Malenko down. The fans gave them a round of applause for their light heavyweight classic and both men shook hands in the middle of the ring as the symbol of ultimate respect. Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament First Round Match : The Southern Boys vs. The Can-Am Express The Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament got off to a raging start with this first match. The Southern Boys came out guns ablazing , with extremely aggressive tactics against the Can-Ams. Furnas and Lafon played it cool and let the Southern Boys work themselves into a frenzy. When Armstrong made a mistake, that's when they sprang their trap. Armstrong failed to notice that Lafon had tagged out, and only realized it when Furnas grabbed him around the waist. Furnas then hit a crushing German Suplex, and with Lafon intercepting Smothers, got the three count to move on in the tournament. The Southern Boys were livid at the result and looked to take it out on the ref before he threatened them with suspension. Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament First Round Match : Phoenix Rising (Toshiaki Kawada & Kensuke Sasaki) vs. The Fighting Irish (Fit Finlay & Erin O'Grady) The Irish are coming in on a real high after a huge win last week over the Dragon Kings. This momentum would be put to a severe test with the Japanese duo of Kawada and Sasaki. Both teams held nothing back, but it seemed like Phoenix Rising were wearing down Finlay and O'Grady. Then, Sasaki clotheslined O'Grady over the top rope, but, similar to Armstrong in the previous match, didn't see the Leprechaun catch himself on the rope. Sasaki took a moment to catch his breath, only to get blindsided by O'Grady with the Pot O' Gold (springboard bulldog). Finlay ploughed into Kawada like an Ulster torpedo and O'Grady got the pinfall for another huge victory to move on in the tournament. Billy Gunn vs. The Soultaker The Soultaker has blazed a trail since his arrival on the West Coast that has been terrible to behold. The monster of the Wild Things has left a trail of broken bodies in his wake, including a victory over Billy Gunn at Aloha Spectacular. The happy go lucky Texan did not shy away from signing a rematch, but while he gave it his all, it seemed like it would be another victory for the Soultaker when he got Gunn set for the Exorcism (Spine Snapper backbreaker). Then Gunn cut that off with a big elbow to the face that stunned the Soultaker. He followed up with several more elbow smashes before executing the Sidewinder (Spinning Side Suplex). One … two … THREE! The fans exploded and Gunn leapt to his feet after he had pulled off what seemed to be impossible. Gunn may well have jumped up to the next level in one match. Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament First Round Match : The Dreamboats (Tommy Dreamer & Glamour Boy Shane) vs. The Sin City Superstars (Scotty The Body & Mark Starr) The next match up in the tournament wound up being a big match in one of the hottest rivalries on the West Coast. Trisa Hayes and her men have rapidly drawn the ire of the Playboy Club, notably Scotty The Body and Tina Ferrari. With Scotty bringing back his Sin City Superstars partner Mark Starr to take on the Dreamboats, you can tell he was taking this match seriously. The powderkeg exploded when Trisa and Tina started catfighting at ringside. Starr quickly took advantage by clipping Dreamer from behind. This gave Scotty the opening to hit the Body Shot (DDT) and grab the win to advance. Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament First Round Match : The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle) vs. The Juice Crew (Beetlejuice & Big Juice) The last match of the first round pitted one of the most popular duos in PCW against one of the most bizarre. While the unusual personalities and tactics of the Juice Crew did bedevil the FOJ for much of the match, the masked pair were able to overpower the Wild Things team by hitting a double flying shoulder block on Beetlejuice and get the win. Silver King vs. Masahiro Chono Silver King came in with a noticeable limp from his recent match with Dean Malenko. While the Mexican star put in a brave effort against Chono, Chono is far too dangerous to face with any kind of injury. Chono mercilessly attacked his injured leg throughout the match before Silver King finally went down. Chono then swiftly applied the STF and forced Silver King to tap out. A valiant showing by Silver King but, in the end, it just wasn't enough. Bret Hart vs. Barry Windham Ever since their arrival in PCW, these two second generation stars have had several matches over the years renowned for their excellence. This one did have the phantom presence of the mysterious Triangle Of Terror hanging over it, but apart from some anxious glancing on Windham's part early in the match, there was no sign of them through the match's duration. This was another wrestling masterclass, with Windham's attempts to overpower Bret being held off by the legendary Hart Family toughness. Windham was able to block any attempts to get him in the Sharpshooter, but at the same time, he was unable to keep Hart's shoulders to the mat for long. After a long and arduous battle, Windham looked to put him away when he hoisted him up top for the Superplex. Once he came off, Hart was able to pivot in mid air and land on top of Windham. At this point, Windham had nothing left in the tank and Hart got the three count. After the match, Bret attempted to show Windham some respect, but it was now that the lights went out and the Triangle Of Terror sign was beamed into the ring. When order was restored, Windham went tearing off to the locker room, dead set on finding out who was tormenting him. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : The Rainbow Warriors (Vic Steamboat & Brian Adams) © vs. The Midnight Express While the story of the Midnight Express in PCW has been generally one of consistent success, the loss of the Golden State Tag Team Titles at Aloha Spectacular has very much stuck in their collective craw. Hot off their spectacular victory at the Crockett Cup over some of the greatest tag teams in the world, Jim Cornette's men came determined to take back the titles by hook or by crook. They certainly gave Steamboat and Adams everything they had, but the champions just kept bouncing back and retaliating with full vigour. When the Rainbow Warriors hit the Refraction (suspended vertical suplex by Adams into a flying cross body press by Steamboat) on Eaton, it looked like that was pretty much it. But Jim Cornette jumped up to the ring apron, grabbing the attention of the referee. When Steamboat went over to confront him, a mysterious masked man dressed all in black rushed into the ring, hit Adams with a DDT , then put Eaton on top of him before sliding back out of the ring. When Steamboat turned around, he was met with a savate kick from Lane that sent him out of the ring. The ref had not seen the outside interference and had no choice but to make the three count. Just goes to show you that, whenever you think you have him dead to rights, Jim Cornette always has an ace up his sleeve. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Brian Christopher © vs. Eddie Guerrero Speaking of Jim Cornette, he didn't have much time for locker room celebrating as he had to turn around and go right back out to accompany his young Light Heavyweight champ to the ring. Ever since Brian Christopher won the title from Cheetah Kid last year, Christopher has been ruthless in his defense of the title, but he may have met his match in Eddie Guerrero. While Guerrero may be young, he has been well trained by his father and brothers, and has brought a panache all his own to the ring. Guerrero was able to clock all of Christopher's dirty tactics and fend off any attempted interference on the part of Cornette. Even when a distraction from Cornette set him up for the Chris Cross (Full Nelson Facebuster) , Eddie blocked it by grabbing the ropes, then countered with a devastating Russian Legsweep. He swiftly ascended the top rope and followed up with the Frog Splash. One … two … THREE! Guerrero had done it and was now the new Light Heavyweight champion! The crowd celebrated with him as this new era of the Light Heavyweight Title had begun. Loser Leaves Town Match : Scott Hall vs. Curt Hennig These two former friends have been relentlessly after each other for the past year, and things have gotten so heated, it has become clear that the West Coast is not big enough for both of them. It all comes down to this match, and afterwards, one of them will be gone. These two didn't wait for the bell to start tearing into each other. There were numerous points at which the ref could have called for a DQ, but knowing the high stakes of the match, he gave both men considerable leeway and saw it as his duty to just make the count. Both men got numerous near counts, and the tension increased exponentially as the match wore on. Hennig came very close on several occasions to execute the Perfect Plex, only for Hall to find a way to escape. In the end, the rage of the Gator was too much to contain. Hall exploded out of the corner and levelled Hennig with a clothesline. He then hit the Gator Breaker (fallaway slam) but that still wasn't enough. The grabbed the prone one time Pacific Heavyweight Campion, hoisted him on his shoulders and executed a crucifix power bomb that would be dubbed the Gator Driver. The three count was academic. Hall looked at his formed comrade with a mix of anger and regret as he staggered away from the ring, but regardless, Mr. Perfect's time in PCW had come to an end. Pacific Television Title Match : Brian Pillman © vs. Buddy Rose In the past month, the various members of the Playboy Club have been picking away at Flyin' Brian, softening him up for his match with their leader. Pillman has held up against this remarkably well, but was conspicuously battered and worn down coming into this match. Pillman put up an heroic fight with the Playboy, doing everything he could to stay out of Rose's traps. We was in the middle of making his comeback when Scotty The Body and Mark Starr rushed down to ringside, no doubt up to no good. Whatever their plans, they found themselves intercepted by the Dreamboats . While the two teams were brawling at ringside, the ref went out to get them to cease and desist. While all this was going on, Pillman went up top to finish off Rose, only to be shoved off by Mike Awesome, who appeared out of nowhere. Awesome quickly hit a running legdrop before dashing out of the ring. Rose immediately capitalized with the Inside Out Backbreaker and the ref then made it back into the ring to count to three. The fans were hugely disappointed, but it just goes to show that you should never underestimate the Playboy, especially in his home town of Las Vegas .
  5. Chris Hamrick was active by this period.
  6. A big change, will see how this rule change shakes up the competition in UWF.
  7. Having already revealed the main events, Pacific Coast Wrestling is now able to announce the full lineup for our upcoming 2 night Mega Show, Vegas Vengeance : Pacific Coast Wrestling Vegas Vengeance from the Showboat Arena, Las Vegas, Night One Jerry Lynn vs. Dean Malenko Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament First Round Match : The Southern Boys vs. The Can-Am Express Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament First Round Match : Phoenix Rising (Toshiaki Kawada & Kensuke Sasaki) vs. The Fighting Irish (Fit Finlay & Erin O'Grady) Billy Gunn vs. The Soultaker Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament First Round Match : The Dreamboats (Tommy Dreamer & Glamour Boy Shane) vs. The Sin City Superstars (Scotty The Body & Mark Starr) Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament First Round Match : The Force Of July (The Patriot & The Eagle) vs. The Juice Crew (Beetlejuice & Big Juice) Silver King vs. Masahiro Chono Bret Hart vs. Barry Windham Golden State Tag Team Title Match : The Rainbow Warriors (Vic Steamboat & Brian Adams) © vs. The Midnight Express Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Brian Christopher © vs. Eddie Guerrero Loser Leaves Town Match : Scott Hall vs. Curt Hennig Pacific Television Title Match : Brian Pillman © vs. Buddy Rose Pacific Coast Wrestling Vegas Vengeance from the Showboat Arena, Las Vegas, Night Two Dragon Azul vs. The Jackal Dustin Rhodes vs. Chris Adams Dan Severn, Steve Blackman & Maxx Payne vs. The Oregon Wrecking Crew (Billy Jack Haynes , Gary Albright & David Young) Shinya Hashimoto vs. Bam Bam Bigelow Louie Spicolli vs. Mike Awesome Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament Semi-Final Match : Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament Semi-Final Match : No DQ Street Fight : Steve Austin vs. Cactus Jack Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Destruction Crew © vs. Stormfront (Al Snow & Alex Porteau) Loser Leaves Town Match : Brian Lee vs. The Undertaker California Title Match : Steven Regal © vs. Chris Candido Moondog Lonnie Mayne Memorial Tag Team Tournament Final Match : Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Ricky Steamboat © vs. Genichiro Tenryu
  8. Woo hoo! My boys bring home the win! Great tournament all round, you did an excellent job of writing the differing styles of the different teams.
  9. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Selland Arena, Fresno, 21st Dean Malenko vs. Silver King Malenko hit a precision dropkick to King's knee and then trapped him in the Texas Cloverleaf to force him to tap out. Silver King was limping as he left the ring. Chris Candido vs. Phil Lafon These two had a technical showdown that had the fans on the edge of their seats that went to Candido after an over the shoulder neckbreaker. The Patriot vs. Doug Furnas The fans were agog as the powerhouse Furnas caught the masked man in a rana coming off the ropes for the win. The Eagle vs. Tracy Smothers Smothers went down to the Screaming Eagle (top rope missile dropkick) and was livid after the match. Billy Gunn vs. Big Juice Gunn was able to survive an early battering from the big man and came back to defeat him with the Sidewinder (Spinning Side Suplex) California Title Match : Steven Regal © vs. Louie Spicolli Spicolli put in a game effort but the champ forced him to tap out to the Regal Stretch
  10. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Cow Palace , San Francisco, on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, 20th Jerry Lynn vs. The Jackal Jerry Lynn was doing well against the masked man when the Jackal threw a handful of red powder in his eyes, blinding him. The Jackal took him down with an inverted DDT and went up top for the Betrayal (flying kneedrop) to steal the win. Brian Lee vs. Barry Windham These two were slugging it out when Undertaker ran into the ring and attacked Lee, resulting in Windham losing by DQ. Windham didn't assist in the attack on Lee, and in fact took issue with Undertaker's unwanted interference. Notably, Paul Bearer was not present for this match nor any of his men's matches yesterday. Looks like trouble in the Neighborhood Of Evil. Shinya Hashimoto & Phoenix Rising (Toshiaki Kawada & Kensuke Sasaki) vs. Brian Christopher & The Midnight Express Hashimoto and Sasaki were able to hold off the Midnights while Kawada hit a high angle belly to back suplex on Christopher for the win. Steve Blackman vs. Buddy Rose Blackman was coming off the ropes for the Running Bicycle Kick but was clobbered from behind by Tina Ferrari. This gave Rose the chance to roll up Blackman with a fistful of tights to steal the pin. Genichiro Tenryu vs. Dustin Rhodes Despite a brave effort from Rhodes, Tenryu took him down with an enzuigiri. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Ricky Steamboat © vs. Bam Bam Bigelow Just a week away from his big match with Tenryu, Steamboat took quite a battering at the hands of the Beast From The East. There was a sense that Bigelow was more trying to prove something to himself than the Diamond Exchange and got several near falls on the champ. He was trying to put him away with the Slingshot Splash, but Steamboat still had his wits about him enough to roll out of the way. Steamboat then went up top and hit the Flying Cross Body Press and finally pull out the one two three. Steamboat helped Bigelow to his feet after the match and raised his hand, and the fans applauded both men for their efforts, but DDP was fuming as he led his man from the ring.
  11. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Oakland Alameda County Arena, Oakland, on ESPN / TSN, April 19th The Undertaker vs. Jonathan Libby Despite a loss to Scott Hall at the end of last year at San Diego Battleground, the Undertaker has continued to be a menacing and terrifying presence in PCW. He was clearly looking to emphasize this point as he brutally stomped down Libby. He easily overpowered and clobbered the rookie, swiftly dispatching him with the Tombstone. Clearly this was too easy for the Dead Man, as he brought a metal chair into the ring and hoisted up Libby one more time, looking to put him out of wrestling for good with a second Tombstone onto said chair. He never got the chance to make this statement, for he was tackled from behind by Brian Lee. The Bulldozer clearly had enough of the Undertaker's bullying and had rushed out to the defense of young Libby. The two men threw lefts and rights before PCW officials finally separated them and ordered them back to their locker rooms. Bret Hart vs. David Young Bret will be facing one of the toughest opponents he has ever been matched with at Vegas Vengeance, but before that, he will have to deal with one tough customer in David Young. The Roughneck has made a big impression in his rookie year and quickly made a name as the point man for the Oregon Wrecking Crew. Young wasted no time in going right after the Hitman, and the two had a hard hitting and aggressive bout. Young tried to go for the Spinebuster Slam, but Hart stopped him with a boot to the midsection and then took him down with a forearm smash to the face. Young fought off attempts to get the Sharpshooter on him, but Bret put him down with a Russian Legsweep and held him down with a double leg cradle for the three count. A disappointing loss for Young , but he can take pride in the fact he gave such a tough fight to one of PCW's top stars. Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring Coss : Ladies and gentlemen , my next guests have, in a short time, become one of the most dominant factions on the West Coast … the Diamond Exchange! There is an air of unease hanging over Diamond Dallas Page, Bam Bam Bigelow, Chris Adams , Mike Enos and Wayne Bloom as they ignore the crowd's boos on the way to the ring. Coss : Before we go further, I just got some breaking news that, at Vegas Vengeance, the Destruction Crew will be defending the Pacific Tag Team Titles against Stormfront. Enos : What? Those idiots again? I am sick of … Bloom : It's alright, Mike, I will handle it. We have no worries about those two jerks. We beat them before, and we will beat them again. Bigelow : Enough of this crap? I want to know what gives! Last few weeks, all of you guys have been giving me the cold shoulder and sticking your nose in my matches. What, don't you trust me take care of things on my own? DDP : Frankly, my brother, no. I brought you into the Diamond Exchange as a fellow Jersey boy, and you made a lot of promises you haven't kept. You were going to run Bret Hart out of the West Coast. I can't help noticing Bret Hart still walking around. Then you were going to take out Shinya Hashimoto. I had to step in to give you that win, and you haven't really appreciated it. In short, you have talked a big game, a game you haven't played. If you don't start delivering soon … well, just so you know, you can be replaced. Bigelow : REPLACED? Who do you think can replace the Beast From The East? DDP : We'll see, baby, we'll see. Until then, you are living on borrowed time, and all eyes are on you. The Dragon Kings (Dragon Azul & Silver King) vs. The Fighting Irish (Fit Finlay & Erin O'Grady) In his short (tee hee) time in PCW, "The Leprechaun" Erin O'Grady has scored some wins but has mostly been taking pinfalls in this early stage of his career. This has not diminished his mentor Fit Finlay's faith in him one jot, and the otherwise belligerent Belfast Bruiser has been an unending fountain of support and encouragement for his young pupil. O'Grady was particularly aggressive in this match, and the Dragon Kings seemed caught off guard by this. O'Grady was able to dodge the Silver Kick from Silver King and catch him in a single leg takedown that got a 2 count. But the big surprise came when Silver King went for the Silver Crash (diving Samoan Drop) and O'Grady was able to avoid it with a slide down and rolled up the luchador to get the win. Finlay full on embraced O'Grady and hoisted him in the air to celebrate his biggest victory yet. Scott Hall vs. Curt Hennig Much like his teammate Barry Windham, Curt Hennig has become progressively more unhinged in the past few weeks. A series of losses has driven him right round the bend, and he has taken his frustration out on his former friend Scott Hall. Hall clearly is not about to put up with this nonsense, and this led to a knock down, drag out brawl that the ref wound up throwing out and declare the match a no contest. This is going to blow up sooner or later, and something tells me that will happen at Vegas Vengeance. Pacific Television Title Match : Brian Pillman © vs. Mark Starr Last week , Mark Starr made his return to both PCW and the Playboy Club, and is already getting involved in their feud with Brian Pillman. Starr was always the workhorse of the Sin City Superstars, and was quite effective as he targeted Pillman's knee, even keeping him in a painful heel hook until he made it to the ropes. The TV champ was made of sterner stuff, though, and was in the middle of his comeback when Buddy Rose, Tina Ferrari and Mike Awesome came to ringside. While Pillman was distracted by this, Starr dropkicked him from behind, sending Flyin' Brian flying out of the ring to the floor. Starr then started arguing with the ref, giving Awesome the opportunity to Power Bomb onto the ringside mat. The ref counted Pillman out, giving the win but not the title to Starr. That didn't seem to bother Starr at all, as he joined his comrades in putting the boots to the felled champion until Bret Hart rushed out with a chair to run the off. The champion isn't looking in too good shape going into Vegas Vengeance.

  14. The Destruction Crew are on the block for PCW.
  15. Important clarification (just in case there is any confusion) that the Awesome Kong on that list is not the female wrestler Kia Stevens but a male wrestler who was part of the Colossal Kongs with King Kong and had a brief run in WCW.
